Thread: h22 dohc vtec engine in a 92 integra?

    i waz wonderin if its possible to drop a h22 dohc vtec engine in a 92 intgra ...cuz my friend did it to a civic hatch ...n ifs its possible im thinkin bout swappin mine? :???:

    Go for it, I bet that hatch isn't too good at turning..

    Nah man don't do it, u'r gonna fuck up the wieght displacement of u'r car. U'r gonna be top heavy and turns are gonna be murder for u. Fuck the H22 leave that to the preludes, go with a B18C type R or a B-20 and do a v-tech conversion. U'll see that u'r car will be more responsive and i believe u'll kill any h22. Remember it's not so much how much hp u have compared to u'r opponent's hp. It's really how much hp in comparison to the wieght of u'r car, that will send u flying down the strip.

    why bother even puttin the b18c5 in your car..the hp diference is only 25-27 depending on the gen of the integra R. you can bolt on the hp diference with the money you save, but that is just my opinon. and address the h22 swap, you plannin on turbo'n the car?..cause if you're gonna run high boost, the vtec is worthless anyways..most people end up disconnectin the vtec.

    I think silver hit it on the money, I agree with him it's not how much hp you have its how much you weight and how fast you can pull it.

    hey i agree with silver to h22 is way to hevy for that car. go with the b18c. thats like the all around best moter for tegs.

    The thing is that if he does just say "to hell with an engine swap" he'll lose out on the 25 hp. Sure he may be able to bolt on the 25 horse, but if he went with the swap, giving him an extra 25 hp, then bolted on 25 hp with intake, headers, etc. he'll be up an extra 50 horse. So do big things first then do small stuff, swap then bolt.

    it will take more than bolt ons to bring a gsr to a type-r motor. MAX of 15 wheel hp with i/h/e. The difference in wheel hp between a gsr and R is about 22. The R is the perfect platform to start a car on. Out the door it will make your car a low 14 sec car, and with basic mods it puts you into the 13's. You will need to put over 2,000 to get into the 13's with a gsr in it. The valvetrain on the type-r is 100x better than the gsr for n/a projects. Plus you get the tranny, which is the best road-racing tranny that honda offers. If you have the money, definately get the itr motor. I did my research and I know all the pros and cons between the 2, and trust me, i am perfectly happy with the R in the teg.

    1st off all i got to say it that i got my answer...n also its sad ur like prob almost 30 years old wit grandkids trin to son out teenagers n trin to say u gotta faster car than me cuz u hav a fulltime job wit benefits n make more money than me...im comin on this site to get help on my car n learn shit from people that actually kno summin ....n it the people like u i kno that dont got a clue bout nuttin ...so im not even gunna bother listenin to u...o n good looks to all the people that gave me ur opinions n ideas.

    1) 92TypeR and myself are 19 years of age.
    2) Ur a dumbass. 92TypeR has the same exact car as you, and has the same exact swap u were asking about, and u flame him? good job!
    3) Good luck finding help on future subjects from anyone who knows anything..which is basically me, 92, jdmricepolice, 631 teggy, turbogsr, and a few select others. So when someone tellls u that its ok to run 15 psi on stock internals, we will all at you.

    i waznt sayin that to all the mods n i said good lookin to every1 that helped me . n 92typer waz one of them. i psoted this to get opinions not to hav all the mods get madd cuz i titled it "???" if u didnt like it u culda jus said when ya post next time b more specific n i wulda been fine wit it but no u wanted to go all crazy about so im not gunna sit ther n take it n i kno u wuldnt too
