I can I have my factory t-body bored instead of getting a whole new one, right? If so, how much can it be bored, safely? Anyone now prices?

im not sure if they bore them.... you could bore the metal but there is also that medal plate that opens and closes... so you would have to have a larger one of them in there so its not always allowing air to pass......

my suggestion... just buy a new one... JG makes a great one... thats what im using

I sent out my GSR T/B to RC Engineering in Cali. I think was like $250 and they'll bore it out 4mm (from 60mm to 64mm) Type R T/B is 62mm. They did a quality job.

You dont need to spend all kinds of money on a throttle body. Unless your some kind if stupid poser and you just want to be able to say"I have a spoon throttle body!" Im not sure what you drive but I have a stock 65mm throttle body from a 5.0 on my GSR. I got for free from a friend. Slight modification and it works fine. Cheapest way to go!

you dont need a bigger tb unless you got a bigger manifold...big ass cams...or serious compression...aftermarket tb's suck..i spent over 300 on a bbk tb..and it gave me nothing but headaches...wouldnt idle right...ever..even after i moved the tps sensor around w/ a voltometer...
best shit for anyone to get is a type R tb...sensors r intact..and thats all you'll really need unless your a serious baller and make enough power for those yummy toda individual throttle bodies.

actually, I am going to put JG 301 cams in my car, along with their victor x manifold or a skunk 2 manifold. Unfortunately I only have an LS, but thank you for suggesting JG. I went to their site and found that boring my throttle body 4 mm only would cost 125 exhange. So, piece by piece, it will be put together, intake-throttlebody-new intake manifold-cams-usdm type r or gsr pistons-header-exhaust. not including the other fuel/ingnition things.
by the way, those individual throttle bodies kick ass, but I don't have that kind of money...I'm in college!

I always wondered about those throttle bodies...What happens if a leaf gets sucked in? of if you drive through a puddle... I know they are strictly for racing cars...But you never know...

I believe that JG says 5-10 at the wheels. It really just helps with making everything else work together.
