what do you mean how is it any good? i have seen dino charts and its better than aem, is that what you mean? dc doesnt make the best headers by the way, or strut bars.

Base RSX is 160hp at the flywheel, Type S, 200... avg on the AEM CAI is around 12-14 wheel hp. Injen SRI is around the same, but who's gonna have their hood open driving down the road? ^_^ Both quality intakes, minus the problems injen has had with their heat shields, with the latest one I think it is solved though. Living in a warmer climate I went for the CAI

Haven't been to this site in weeks

But anyways... how much HP would I/H/E add to an RSX Type S at the crank?

Also.. when is the type r gonna come to the US or when is it gonna come out at all in japan.. and how much HP will it have?

It is out in Japan... 220 flywheel hp LSD, brembo brakes and other nice shit we miss out on here in the US. It's rumored to come to the US this fall or next... that's rumors... I'm thinking if they bring it over... fall of 2003 or 2004. Intake- 12ish whp, Exhaust... haven't really seen any dynos but probably 5 whp or so, Headers... somewhere around 8-12 whp is my guess looking at what some companies are saying(always go less than what the companies reps claim  ). so lets say I-12, E-5, Headers-10. 27 whp...So around 35 flywheel hp... a little less but don't feel like doing the math. Now this isn't facts, except for the average of 12 whp on the AEM CAI... Injen is said to be around 15 whp, but once that sucker heats up say goodbye to all that gain or most of it. The Exhaust , I've seen some dynos not many, so that's just estimation. The headers is just speculation from what reps say and taking a few hp off of that =).

do you think it'll be worth to pay the extra 3 grand or so for the Type R or just get a Type S and just add ihe to it?

With the Type R, comes an LSD, Better braking system(Read: Brembo), 20 more flywheel hp, lighter flywheel, more than likely better clutch, 11.5:1 compression vs. the Type S's 11:1 compression. Somewhat better for all motor guys... not as good for FI guys, but more than likely even with 11:1 you are going to go to a lower compression piston setup. The R's also have better gear ratios IMO. You will shift a little bit earlier, but run through the gears faster, way faster. Also a 8300, or 8500 rpm redline. So to me, the redline, LSD, gears, and brakes are worth the 3 grand extra if that is how much more it is going to be. I mean in my Type S I can always get the gears, LSD, and better brakes than the stock R's... but It'll be hard to get that redline. Also if you think you might sell it down the road, the R will have a way better resale value. Bad thing is theft... ya just might have the same problem 3g ITR owners have.

I hope you mean Header, as in only one. Plus, normally you will be lucky to gain more than 15 hp with i/h/e, but I have seen some impressive numbers with just a Short ram intake on the RSX's.

I know inline 4's only have a header, it is just a bad habit saying/typing headers. Most cars breathe better in stock form than RSXs do, that's why the gains seem to be better for the RSX. There is just more hp to be freed up there. Like the exhaust, it's pretty straight, but just from going from a 2" to a 2.5" pipe and the new muffler gives you around 5whp or so. Pretty nice for an exhaust on an I4. The muffler is pretty restrictive stock on an rsx. The Air Intake box is hella restrictive. Haven't played with the header to see how restrictive it is or isn't.

You will have to find someone that has dyno'd there ride adding each mod... the stock Air box must have been REALLY restrictive for an air intake to give +12hp to the wheels..(the norm being like 2->5hp) so based on that.. I/H/E HP will be kind of unpredictable for the type S

Yes, the stock airbox is REALLY restrictive. Rumor has it that the Type R was more HP and outperforming the s2000, so they did a few things to detune it and that fell in with the Type S. That is rumor, though. Anyways, the exhaust is pretty straight, they say the muffler/can is pretty restrictive. I heard rumors of a company called mass/inertia(exhaust) pulling 17 flywheel hp on a type r. From the dynos I've seen, the avg is around 3-6 whp. As for the header, none really out yet, DC Sports still working on theirs I believe, as is Comptech and other companies.

i read that type r are pushing 215 and will they not come with a sun roof like the itr's?

You wont have the same problem with RSX -Rz as you do with Integra -Rz

The Integra Type Rz are getting stolen for primarily there engine ... which sells for 5500 on the Net ... so black market im sure you can get a couple Gz .. and there is a demand because that engine fits in CRX/CIVIC/Integra the RSX'z K20 doesnt fit into jack crap.... and no one is gonna G your RSX for your seats (; if they do there a Dumb Azzzzzz
