I need some help guys what would is the best catback exhaust and header for an 01 GSR. Also what is the difference between 4-2-1 DC header and the 4-1? which is better. Thanks for your help

As far as cat-backs go Greddy and Apexi both make pretty good ones that range from mild to loud and wild. Both companies are a little more on the "power over sound" side though and arent excessivly loud.

For a header, the 4-1 would give you more peak power at high rpms and if you just plan to race and considering Honda engine love to live at the high end of the powerband a 4-1 would be fine and take more advantage of the Vtec. Most people dont actually use the Vtec in regular driving though. You would sacrifice low end power and torque which would be bad if its just a daily driver.

Your stock header is a 4-2-1. 4-2-1s will give you more "usable" hp in the low-midrange powerband that you are actually using most of the time your driving. 4-2-1 is great for a daily driver. Personally its what Id get but it all depends on what you want from the car.

As far as who makes a good header you can spend anywhere from $300 for a CD sports, Greddy, or Comptech header to name a few or up to $1,000 for a really well designed header. The $300 range headers are just fine though. Hope this helps.

another thing about the difference, you don't LOSE low end torque really with a 4-1, but u wont make as much low end torque as you would with a 4-2-1. on the gsr, i would get the 4-1.
