you may save money....but your losing out on performance. i say buy the best you can get. dont go in stages buying the same thing over and over making your way to the best gear. your really losing money that way. if you dont have the money for what you REALLY WANT...take your time and save up.

Good point, but they won't fit the LS.

if you want real power, go for an smsp or hytech header.

the mugen doesn't compare to these two.

you wont make those kind of hp numbers with just bolting on a header on a stock motor.
the chart shows that it made over 200whp..a average stock gsr puts down around 140 to the wheels..to gain over 60hp with just header is staight up bullshit...on motor..you need pistons and cams at least to bump those kinda figures..and i mean serious pistons and cams.

but thats okay...if u got money to buy spoon or mugen header's then your ballin..me..i'll stick to my cheap dc jdm copy and i know that im making hp......my shitty ass dc header put me deep into the 13's...cant complain about that.

i've never seen or heard of mugen lying...have you?

i've never known mugen to lie, but there's no fucking way that slapping a header on a honda 4 cylinder is gonna give you even 40 hp. the stock manifold isn't anywhere close to that restrictive. btw what's the deal with this thread? are you trying to sell mugen parts or something?

Mugen isn't lying, they are not giving information....

that car that they are on obviously isn't a stock motor. The REAL tests are the ones conducted on STOCK vehicles, then you can see REAL gain #'s.

sorry guys...i read the dyno chart wrong...i was tired as hell comming from work when i looked at it and posted it. for those of you who dont know how to read a dyno chart... the lower "lines" are torque and the higher "lines" are the brake horse power(99% of the time). usually dyno charts will have a legend somewhere to show what color is representing torque or bhp. and no i'm not selling for mugen. i've seen alot of ppl ask about h/e so i gave an example and a site to look at.

i think you are a great example of a brainwashed, JDM whore.

Just because its mugen, doesnt make it great.

did u know that the DC JDM 4-1 header (3-400 dollars) sells for close to 700 in japan?

The mugen header is good, dont get me wrong. Btt for the price, there are better out there...namely, CUSTOM. as bgod mentioned, the hytech and SMS are custom made for your specific car, your specific setup. theres no way a mass produced header is going to be able to compete against the custom manifold.

and if u want dyno proof...this done from an INDEPENDENT header test, and not taken from the manufacturer's website, like u did from King...

mugen peak hp/tq - 186/135

Dude your a moron if youd run out and piss $900 into headers. You should give that dough to someone who knows what they are doing and get some DCs or JDMs with a 2.5" collector AND STILL have money to buy an exhaust.

not true. it depends on the state of the motor. for a mildly modded motor, sure DC or JDM 4-1 would suffice.

But when you get up to the aggressive cam, high piston, more fuel drinking motors a header like a Toda or custom from SMS would show a GREAT advantage over the restrictive DC JDM or JDM 4-1s.

on a stock motor, you wont see many differences. The more built the motor is, the more important a qualtiy exhaust manifold is.

and im still waiting on an answer from the Mugen Poster boy
