First and formost when photoshopping bumpers you need to have similar angles and similar colors for it to come out right, that's why my photoshops look so real

so here's how i did the skyline wrx

first i started off with this pic, then scouted for some angles that matched up
http://www.imagemagician.com/images/shovell242/untitled.JPG

after seaching through some high res pics i found this bumper off a golf, i got the lasso tool out, raising the zoom to 400% and then selected the bumper like this
http://www.imagemagician.com/images/shovell242/untitled3.JPG
then i copy and paste that into the original picture, use the scale, rotate, and distort to make it fit
http://www.imagemagician.com/images/shovell242/untitiled4.JPG

now i want to add some new headlights and a hood, in my search i found this pic of an R34 Skyline, i used the lasso tool to select what i wanted

http://www.imagemagician.com/images/shovell242/untitled5.JPG

i then copy and paste that into the original picture like this
http://www.imagemagician.com/images/shovell242/untitled6.JPG

notice how that looks off? use the disort and rotate to make it look better, now i'm going to use the smudge tool to fill in what it should cover, notice the circles are wear i uses the tool at
http://www.imagemagician.com/images/shovell242/untitled7.JPG

ok now everything is set! now, to make it blend together you need to use the blur tool, zoom into 400% and blur where the lines off the bumpers meet like this
http://www.imagemagician.com/images/shovell242/untitled8.JPG

so now it look like a complete front end with no mistakes
http://www.imagemagician.com/images/shovell242/untitled9.JPG

no that the bumper is in place we need to make the color match, this is were you need patience, zoom in 400% and select the whole vehicle like this, all edges!

http://www.imagemagician.com/images/shovell242/untitled10.JPG

now once that is selected, copy and paste into the SAME picture so now you have 2 layers, look
http://www.imagemagician.com/images/shovell242/untitled11.JPG

now, do you see that little eye in the lower picture? unselect it so you view just the layer of the car, you pull out your lasso and delete EVERYTHING that doesn't involve the body of the car, like this
http://www.imagemagician.com/images/shovell242/untitled14.JPG

now your set to make this bitch look real and one solid color, so you know that eye you just unselected? well now select it so you come back to the pictures original state, like this
http://www.imagemagician.com/images/shovell242/untitled15.JPG

now you need all the colors to come together, go to image > adjustements > desaturate, and it will look like this
http://www.imagemagician.com/images/shovell242/17.JPG

now that all the color is sucked out of it it looks like it blends togerther! and real! so now got to image > adjustments > color balance and play around with the colors, i did and this is THE FINAL STEP, i made it blue, and this is what it came out to be
http://www.imagemagician.com/images/shovell242/untitled17.JPG

i will make more tutorials in the near future, so for the noobs to photoshoping enjoy this one!

you need to make the color of white darker then, try to select the body and play with brightness/contrast to set it at a level you can desaturate it and play with the color

You forgot to delete the license plate from the body. Now it looks blue. Also the headlights seem to have a blue tint from the skyline, any way to fix that?

oops hehe, not a big factor, and the headlights don't have any tint to them, but if they did you can select them and play with brightness/contrast and color balance

i increase the picture to 200% or 300% when i am using the lasso tool so i can see better... and you can always pree "backspace" if you screw up in one step...

You can also use the layer mask tool to touch up on your lasso messes, but hey... I've only been using photoshop for a couple years :P .

:pimp: 8ball out

 omg dude, your did a handy job, just looks like shit, sorry to say bro, but the blurr fucks it up, you know what you might want to use is the second feature to clone on ps7, but with ps6 i say not to blurr it kouse it makes it shitty, sorry to say :( :( :(

not bad... i've seen a lot better, not myself personally but friends. but note that the sharpness of the car is comprimised since you have to blend the body kit and the hood/headlights. it's pretty obvious so what to do about that?

JucyTECDesign
10-23-2002, 04:57 AM
This is all wrong... Its one of the ways to do it... but certainly not the best, or the easiest...

Pick any 2 cars... and I'll show you the way... Infamous suggested a 240 and s15... I'll have that up in a few min.

:P :P :P :P
