Default 9-12-09 Storming the Capitol.

went to the tea party in D.C. yesterday w/ my mom. were easily a hundred thousand or so people there, too many to count.

here are a bunch of the pics i took:

here are some yummy compressed panorama's:

tons and tons of people from all over the country. i guess we were all paid to be there by republicans and drug companies....

i will say this though, it was awesome to see this many fellow americans out there demonstrating and showing why this country is so great.

the entire crowd at one point started singing the national anthem. it was absolutely epic hearing all those voices from every direction.

I guess I can say it's nice to see people standing up for what they believe in, even when I don't agree with their views. However I still think this tea party is being overdone by the media by guys like Glenn Beck supporters who do it just to oppose Obama because they're racists.

the whole obama race thing is hilarious i guess those blacks who were there to march and speak were also racist.

and yes i agree the media is playing it up a bit but its better than the mainstream media (cnn, msnbc, abc...etc.) denying that there is an uprising amongst the population and constantly saying were all racist and just out to get the black man in office.

most of the people there were white, but guess what...? America is white, were just so used to all these special interest groups being the vocal majority. now its time for the majority of americans to be the vocal majority. but with that said there were people from all walks of life there, and most of em hate both republicans and democrats they want all the corruption and lifers in congress out of there.

I agree with the fundamentals of the tea party, but we did see how Fox news went all over it in Florida a while back and how the other stations sided against it. I really believe though there is still a huge racist issue with our President being black, and any excuse to oppose him people will do it. No one did this shit when Bush was spending trillions on killing people overseas, and now people are rising up against Obama who's spending fractions of that money on trying to save people here. Yes, it's a race thing.

for me the marching shows the govt that were all not a bunch of paid cronies for the republican party trying to get rid of obama because he's black. it was getting the point across that most of those in congress are corrupt and not representing the will of the people for which they are supposed to represent. not to mention the fact that the president seems hell bent on passing legislation and wasting time on issues that arent really THAT much of a concern for the avg american. its all about bringing america's control back to the people, not the special interest groups and lobbyists.

we need to allow insurance companies to provide care in all states. that will allow for competitive prices. the govt can barely run medicare god knows whats gonna happen when they try to provide care for the whole country.

seigler has a point, although I disagree with the racist thing, this is not about race, it's about policy, it's just that this policy is actually going to directly affect people, and I am a huge proponent of people taking to the streets when their government has gone too far. I'm not saying this is or isn't the case here, but it's a positive sign.

99% of those white people hate Obama because of his policy, not his race.

99% of black people hate the white people who hate Obama, because of race.

The Tea Parties were originally an annual grassroots Ron Paul fundraiser prior to Rick Santelli's declaration of dubious spontaneity.

Today, people like Glenn Beck have attached their names to these events, and with it come his neocon followers who now believe they're "libratariuns" now (after calling Ron Paul the mayor of Crazytown during the elections for being one). Beck is an opportunist hack who is riding high on the libertarian message popularized by Paul. He is simultaneously introducing it to the masses and smearing it with his obviously non-libertarian message. What better way to discredit a classically LIBERAL philosophy by tying it to an unstable, warmongering, opportunistic piece of filth like Glenn Beck.

However, the idea of people upset at the government and showing it is ALWAYS good. Here's a nice clip from the event:

were there large marches on washington when bush was in office...? and if anything you would assume that if there were the liberal media would have been all over it.

where were all the up in arms dems bitching about what joe wilson said when bush was being booed at his state of the union speech.

see what i did there..?

its all bullshit. bush sucked, obama sucks. congress is corrupt. we all lose.

edit: just found a anti-war march from sept 07. it was covered in the media.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...091500826.html since there were arrests made......
