Probably the control cable fron the heater controls to the water valve has come off.
Check that the water valve moves freely.

Default AC Blows hot

I have the same problem with my 95 Accord EX (2.2L). The problem is that the cable streches over the years (Honda mechanics are well aware of this). Correcting the problem (assuming your control valve is in the same location as mine) is simple. Open the hood, stand by the passenger side fender and look down between the engine and the firewall. You will see the heater hose and valve low on the firewall. reach down and push the valve fully closed. Your AC will blow cold again......well at least until you use the heat agin.

The push/pull cable doesn't stretch (it's a steel wire in a tube). However, the connection to the heater control linkage may need adjustment. Check honda shop manual or simply look under dash while turning the control to look at mechanism. Or the knob on the dash heat control may be damaged and not actually turning the knob stem.

hnkhonda: your AC must be working to get cool air. Do you get cool air when engine is started cold? If yes, then heater valve control wire may be the issue as described. Otherwise AC is not working. Is compressor engaging? Check system for any refrigerant? No refrigerant-No AC.

good luck

Thanks everyone for pointing me in the right direction. With your pointer I managed to manually shut off the hot air. When turning the knob I felt that something is not attached. It is very tight under the dash. Is it hard to remove the dash or at least the stereo just below the knob?

It's been some years, but I adjusted a 90EX by looking under the dash and finding the heater valve control cable and where it attaches to heater controls (middle underside of dash). I moved the temp knob and observed the mechanism. It was pretty clear how to "reattach" cable to linkage and adjust. I did not have to remove anything.

You could also download the 91 Accord manual on this site for guidance on adjustment. I doubt the SW is any different than a sedan. It's under the heater section, heater controls, page 21-28 in 90 Shop Manual.

good luck

Using the downloaded 1991 servie manual, chapter 15, pages 25-28 I was able to open it up and put the cable back. I used a piece of wire to tie the cable to the linkage so that it won't come out again. There is no way I could do this without removing all the parts as shown in the manual. Thanks again for the help.
