I have a 1989 civic lx 1.5l that is throwing a code 4(crank angle sensor) when the engine heats up and goes into limp mode. I have done everything in the troubleshooting flow chart but can't find the sensor and noting is helping. a parts shop can't even find a sensor for me to order. does anyone have any ideas on how to fix the problem?
I would check the distributor, ECU and the wires on the CKP sensor.
We replaced the distributor twice checked the wires on the ecu and distributor. Im in the process of taking it apart down to the timing belt because the sensor i need might be under the cover but need to buy new mounts, belts and valve cover gasket before i finish taking it all apart
Figured it out. It was the wrong distributor the crank sensor is on the old one just didnt notice it the new ones were both missing it
