well i had an idea.... its been done... but im not sure what ill need
im gonna try to hook up 2 6x9's up to my home stero
any ideas?
and what might i need...
i already bought poineers last night

Just asking why you would do that when you can get decent speakers for the house pretty cheap?

projects .... and if you come to think of it... most 6x9s for cars are louder then home 6x9s

OK.... you shouldn't need anything special speaker cable should be fine. Although depending on your home stereo RMS output you might blow them.

i called up my company for my stero....( sony )... i asked the woman...she was sayin she had never heard of something like this before... and that the RMS is good enough....so i dont think ill blow them.... :wink:

I had a car box hooked up to my stereo once it worked. Also had car 6x9s and 6 1/2s from left overs hooked up.. it worked well. try it.

It will work, but sound like shit. Most car speakers are made to handle 4Ohms and home stereos are set up to handle 8Ohms. I have done it before and the sound is not that good. Also never hook up car subs to a home stereo, you will blow out the voice coil unless your home amp has a low frequency crossover.
