If your for sure that the sub isnt blown then its deffinently your wires. Check them goin into the sub and if thats not it then check all connections on the amp. but it could also be a wire loose coming out of the deck.

thats what im thinking...

how many subs? in a box?

i had the same problem... except the top of the box was comming apart...kinda... so i just liquid naild it shut...

so check your box.. and if its sliding around or not... if not in a box... check the sealing around the sub... that might be it...

ahh well :D

hey guys, im in the process of installing subs in my car. The boxes have been made and I have all the equipment and im ready to start wirin....

my question(s) are where do i need to drill in my firewall to be able to run my power cord?? Ive taken off the kick plates and pulled up the carpet and even took off my glove compartment...but im still drawing blanks onto where to drill the damn hole....

and....

when i do connect the wire.....do i connect it directly to the battery, because there are some wires coming off the battery that go to a fuse box sitting right next to it with a bunch of connectors/wires/etc and i wasnt sure if i needed to connect it to that somehow.....

your imput would be greatly appreciated

I have an 00 ex and i didnt drill a hole for the power wire, if u look above the clutch pedal on the left corner of the fire wall there is already a hole there that i used i took off that kick panel an ran the wire through there and back to the amp, and the power wires can be connected directly to the battery.

you should check the voice coils b4 u look at anything because i kno exactly what its doing because mine did the same thing.... your sub isnt blown.. the coil is either hitting the sub when it hits or has come loose which is a manufacturer defect and you can bring it back to the store or send it rite back to the company itself.. :D

Theres already a hole in the fire wall. it has a little rubber gasket in it. second wire it directly to your battery.

check your connections for any near metal sources that can be grounding. The remote wire could also be surging.
