LoJack Information: http://www.hondahookup.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11910

I'm pasting the quoted stuff from a different site but its good info

Well, I see alot of you guys ask so, I'm going to go ahead and tell you what I feel is the best way to protect your cars. Besides locking them up well at night

1)A good passive remote alarm system - This is a first step towards keeping you car safe. It is not by any means the cure all to the common thief. It is just a step in the right direction. Your alarm should have 2 remotes, Siren, Flash the parklights, lock and unlock your doors, and arming without you pressing the button is a good idea. It is also a good idea to have it arm but not lock unless you hit the button. That'll help you from locking your keys in your car. make sure your installer doesn't take the easy way out and just wire tie the unit right unsder the dash. Tell him to have some creativity. This will greatly affect how fast the thief can disable your system. A back-up battery, proximity sensor, and an internal siren is also a good idea

2)Air Horns - This is a great way for you to do 3 things. a)Distinguish your alarm from every other alarm blaring out there. b)Hopefully give the theif a good scare and send him on his way. c)Alert others as to what is going on.

3)Starter cutoff - A must have. BUT, most alarm shops will use this in conjunction with the alarm and wire it in directly with your alarm. Forget that. Have a professional wire it in SEPARATE from your alarm system. This will better your chances of keeping your car. Most thieves think to pull your alarm module and think that all their work is done. This will give them yet one more thing to have to find and undo. Also, try and hook this cutoff relay to some kind of switch. Like maybe your passenger window up switch. In other words, everytime you get in your car, you need to turn your key and then huit your passenger window up switch. Or passenger seatbelt switch. The red button That is a switch, it has a trigger. How many thieves fasten their passengers seatbelt before taking off? Keep it separate from your alarm.

4)Hood Lock - This is a very good device. Not many people use this anymore and it's pretty sad. This device can be very helpful. It will keep ypur hood closed even if they break into your car and pop it. The best one to buy is called a "Maxi-Lock" it has the best lock and key mechanism and is very sturdy. It also has the option of an addition cutoff relay which is a great idea. Lock the hood and cutoff the fuel from underneath the hood. Now you have 2 cutoffs. DO NOT cutoff the starter again if you already have. 2 relays will cause problems when hooked up to the same device.

5)Un-brakeable Autolock, this is an awesome device. The best of it's kind I have seen and is very inexpensive.

With all of these device hooked up, you possibility of theft is greatly reduced. Especially when there is another car down the block that does not have all these anti-theft devices. Nothing can make your car steal proof. It can always be towed and their are always VERY knowledgeable thieves out there that know how to undo any system. These are all just steps to help you out.

Best of luck. It's a jungle out there

Miguel

Just wanted to add

A fuel cutoff switch is also a good addition. If you have wire strippers, some basic electrical knowledge and creativity, u can splice into the fuel pump power, and wire a switch and mount it anywhere in the car. Car wont go anywhere if it doesnt have fuel.

Just go pick up a repair manual either at the auto store around u or the Helm's at www.helminc.com and try it out

Honestly, you don't need a name brand super heavy duty alarm. As long as it has the basic functions it does its job. However, the big thing that you should look into is a PAGER for the alarm.

I know that DEI (python, sidewinder, viper) has a module that combines a proximity sensor with a pager.

This way, yeah the thieves can disable the alarm in lets say 5 seconds...but 5 seconds is still enough to page you to let you know your car is getting broken into.

If you have even more features, such as the club, the autolock, a separate ignition kill, a fuel cut, etc etc...it will take them longer and longer to run off with the car.

Meanwhile, when your pager goes off, u better drop whatever the fuck ur doing, grab a bat, call the cops and go beat the fuck out of those thief mother fuckers. Unless they have guns. Then u just have to be a bitch and let them take it, unless a car means more than ur life.

Just dont set the proximity too sensitive, so it gives u false alarms.

The Club works as well very well, and that one that that locks the gas or brake pedel, that also works very well.

Never Forget most thieves are lazy and if they see you are clubed up and Alaramed they will go to the next car, but if someone wants to steal your car u can't really do much about, they might hold you ass up at gun point, there are some crazy mother fuckers out there. The more you do to stop them, they better off you should be.

Well I recommend a compustar it has all the features you guys want and it also has remote start and a 2 way paging system. the new spread spectrum model has a range up to 1.25 miles and it really is that distance. I Instal these at my work and have one in my integra so i have experience with them.

crutchfield has some alarms that have motion detectors so you could park your car w/ the windows and sunroof open and if someone puts there arm in, it goes off-http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-MjXSeuQlk9O/ProdView.asp?s=0&c=2&g=801&I=514CG745I3&o=m&a=0
check it out. what do you think about that one?

No, I think you mean that the club is a pos, but the autolock is way better than it. I mean think about it, it connects to one of the strongest parts of your car, brake pedal or clutch pedal. It prevents your car from starting because some automatic cars have to have the brake pressed in order to start, and if manual you have to press the clutch to start the car, and even if they do start it how they gonna shift. Besides it's such a risk trying to take it off cause they have to get down low with the car door open, and with their back turned. I have had friends with clubs jacked, but I know 2 people and myself who had their cars broken into, but not taken cause of the autolock. I don't see how it would be easy to take off.

the best way from my friend is... with some common security stuff like club and alarm.. and never wash the damn car so it looks pretty generic.. hide all your shit in there, tint the windows so they can't see what's inside... my rommmate's corolla got breakin cause he put some brand new text book and couple bux in the driver seats.. that's hella sucks

Ok so the autolock is the thing that goes on the brake pedal? quick question. someone breaks in to your car that has the autolock, they break the ignition, start the car, put knife in shift lock override, put it in drive and use E-Brake? is the car gone?

Thanks

Thats true, they could just go really slow and use the ebrake to slow down... but not if you have a manual car u can't start the car without the cluch down......

Another freeeee did i mention free!! way to make you car inposible to hot wire from the inside is by opening the hood and (if you faceing the car from the front its on the right upper part right in front of the driver side) theres a type of fuse that u can take out so you can't start the car...
