On Ebay I know a seller in ATL, that I work with on a lot of stuff. Well his is moving through his store JVC SX 980 decks for 189 or 190(found out it's like less now). Which isn't bad for a MP3/CD-R player.

sound2000nb is the seller.
and here is a link to his site.

i'm not to hype to mp3/cd player decks. it just seems like to me that they spend all their time and energy figuring out how to play mp3 data, then you get a half-assed cd player in other aspects like clarity and watts. just my opinion though.

It may depend on the mp3 deck you're getting. I know Sony has a cheap one so in that case you may lose some quality. Sony has gone down the shitter as far as quality control goes as far as I'm concerned anyway. I have one of their latest plus some others in the past. (non mp3) I do have a kenwood mp3 player in my honda and it kicks ass sound quality wise. It's a higher end deck though. The thing about Mp3 players is the time it takes for them to load. If you've ever watched satellite tv, then you'll understand. It's like that, it takes a good 2 seconds before each song starts, so you can't browse quickly by listening to the first second of each song, you're better off knowing exactly what number it is. It's not nearly as instant as it is on your computer. But, you do get hundereds of songs on one cd. Plus I've been told kenwood is one of the fastest loading mp3 players out there.

My JVC has no delay after the disk loads up the first time and when I am switching folders. Inbetween songs it's like a normal CD.

i'm glad you guys are enjoying yours. i hate it when the dam manufacturers take cheap ways out to screw people out of money. you two are the first ones i know of to say they like theirs.

I like it because it also works as a regular cd player and the sound quality there is A1. I wouldn't like it if it was only mp3 or mp3 with shit cd quality. This way I have a high end cd player with the mp3 option. And when you just don't want to screw around with music but you want something playing, throw in a cd with your favourite couple hundred songs and you're laughing.
