yes - since it is such a performance increasing mod - it does require the removal of your entire wheel - but it's worth it, obviously

i knwo its all looks. i'm not looking for HP from painting my brakes. they look like shit i want them to look good. i was looking for advice form ppl who have painted them, to see if its a bitch to clean them, cuz if i have to take off my wheel everytime i wash my car i'll paint them black it i can get them clean without the wheels coming off i'll paint them red or some shit.

sorry - i didn't mean to come off as such an ass - if you like to paint your calipers - who am I to stand in your way, right? Beauty and style are totaly subjective.
You'll probly want to take the wheels off to clean the painted calipers before you take your ride to a show - but otherwise - using soap and a stronger pressure on a hose should do the trick.

usually when i wash my car all the crud in the wheels and on the painted drums/calipers just comes right off, i think its because of the smooth surface of the paint.

When you wash them a good pressure hose the gunk should come off... A friend of mine painted his with Dupli-color Metalcast and that works for him... Me I am going to wait till i can afford blue calipers, I'm too lazy to paint them :)
