3-4 for normal.
6-6500 while racing.
Man I'm pretty sure shifting at 2 is bad for the engine. It has to work extra hard because the rpms are so low.

alot of people dont relize where to shift (when racing), the best thing to do is to find out where the power band is for your car (powerband=period of rpms which your engine produces the most hp).

shifting into the redline is dumb, because it is harder on your engine and it produces lower hp in the redline.

say for example if your powerband is between 6000 and 6500 rpms then your best bet is to shift at 6500 rpms once youve used your entire powerband up because its downhill from there.

and how can you shift at 2000rpm when your not racing? engines are barly revved at 2000rpm, when you start in the next gear you must be lower then 800rpm, which is ritarded cause, your rapeing your fuel econemy and also hurting the reliablity.

I usually shift between 4.5 and 6, regularly. I will go to 7.2 if I am racing, new engine will let me go to 8.5. Damn d series non-vtecs, gutless.
