my sub set up at 4ohms... but only because I don't have a second shiva yet... once I get that I'm wiring it down to 2ohms...

As long as the amp can match the ohm rating then the lower the ohms the greater the wattage they'll receive.

really theres no pro or cons to either set up with the exception that 4 ohms will typically run cleaner then 2 or 1 ohms. . .

I usually run 1 ohm loads to mono block amps. . . they are just there to match the amps configuration really

It all depends on what your running. I have always run a lower Ohm load for my subs, by wiring them in paralle instead of series. Generally you get more power in running a lower Ohm level as long as your amp can handle it. However you want to run your mids and highs at a 4 ohm level. I tried running four mids to a 2 channel amp, but I just didn't get the greatest results as I did when I replaced it with a 4 channel amp.

Depending. . . basically the lower the ohms the more current you draw from the amp. .

but, you can hook up 2 bazooka 10's at 1 ohm and i can hook a Blueprint to a 1200.1 @ 4 ohms and shit all over it. . it has some factors that makes the statement untrue. ..

Most SPL setups you will see running at 2ohms or lower though
