You know how in audiobahn sealed sub enclosed boxes they have that neon light inside that lights up when bass hits. Well I want to know is how to wire a neon light to light up when bass hits. Any help would be great. Thanks guys

Do I just cut the neon wire and wire one part to the positive terminal on my box and the other to a ground?

I know on the boxes they have a sepreate 12volt out put for the light. Im not positive though on where you would hook it up to.

If there is a seperate power wire for the light then you must use a distubation block to split the power wire to the amp and one to the power wire for the light. Make sure you use a seperate fuse. Other then that I don't know. If you describe which wires are coming fromthis light I may be better help.

I know how I'd do it...but its probably too complicated. All you need is the input to the sub, a MOSFET transistor, a relay, a power source, a dedicated fuse and probaby a few resistors (and the ground but thats a given).

cause I want it to light when bass hits. So wouldn't that mean when the amp puts power out, it would make the neon light glow? My friend has done it a million times and I can't get a hold of him

Sounds like it needs to be wired through something connected to the speaker channels, the amp power wire would just have consistent power, so I would guess it has something to do with the speaker channels. Let me know how its done.

you could wire it directly to the output of the speaker channels, positive for positive, negative for negative, but i've heard it's hard on the amp. i'd just go get a new neon light that they make now that come with a mic built into it that senses the bass. not to pricey only like $30 pretty much anywhere.

just hook it up off one channel of your sub amp with a fuse inline ofthe light an voila your light will glow with the bass of course only if your amp is only running bass to the subs,if not it'll run with the music
