ok so i have a walmart 200w 2 channel amp. i hooked it up one day and it worked fine so i kept it in my car for about a month. then i had to go on a trip and needed room for my bags so i took the sub and amp out but left all the wiring in there. i went to go hook it up the other day and the light came on for the amp but the sub wouldnt work. i know the sub works cause i hooked it up in my room to make sure. so the amp is gettin power but not sendin a signal to the amp or something. so i need some help ive double checked all my wiring. do i need a new amp or what im lost...any help would be greatly apprecited.
thanks

i just replaced all fuses (under hood and @ the amp) my ground wire goes to my rear upper strut bar so i know its not loose. it is possible that the rca's are pinched ill check that tomarrow. i just reset my h/u so ill give it another go, thanks for the help.

thats a possibility, could also have bad inputs on the head unit or amp as well.

I would say either ur 10-buck-amp is f*cked or the RCA's aren't connected properly or they are somehow unable to give signal... The red light usually indicates that it protects it from overheating, if that is the case I wouldn't bother my head with an amp that aint even worth the wires... My advice: Buy a new one, your ears aren't worth a wlamart or some other cheap audio equipment, buy only products with a name like DLS, Peerless, Hertz, Monacor... These are european brands so I suggest US brands like: Kicker, Audiobahn, Boston Acoustics, Rockford Fosgate, Pheonix Gold, Digital Designs... Also no other audio equipment from headunit producers, than a headunit: Pioneer, Sony, Alpine, Panasonic... u know what i mean...

with the exception of DD... way to ride the mainstream brands :yup:

Also check that the remote wire is getting voltage I know that an amp will light up with just the 12v but you also need the like .5v to kicker in . easy way to check is jump the 12v with the remote and see if it comes alive, I would recommend keeping like that but at least you'll know. Or be safe and use a voltmeter :)
