ok i have 2 rockford 12's that used to work before my car was broken into, only the cd player was stolen and 1 wire cut. i recently fixed the wire and put a new cd player in and rehooked up the subs and everyuthing. it worked fine for about 2 hours then all of a sudden it made a loud uncontrollable humming noise, i talked to some people and they though it was the ground wire so i got a new one and rehooked it up and it still does it, does any1 have any other suggestions?

Does it hum only though the subs, or is it all speakers. What if you turn the stereo on, when the car is off, does it still hum. Check the remote wire from your deck to the amp, and sometimes if the power wire is exposed to close to the ground that my cause this sound, also make sure your amp has a nice solid ground.

you have a ground loop
you ned to make sure that your cables are all still in tack..... radio shack sells hum removers which break the loop... what the hum is that the cables are amplifing outside noise which in turn causes the humming.... im a dj this kind of shit happens alot in cars and djing... its the cables not the subs or anything....

If the wires were cut you might want to get a new wire harness.
