just went to go check out my local yamaha dealership for the second time.
btw this is all in canadian money, i live in bc canada so i can ride the bike like march-november (even thats pushing it) due to snow/cold weather.. 5-6 actually months of quality riding
i plan on purchasing a 2002 yamaha royal blue r6 next year (2003) in april. i saw a 2001 r6 for $8,999 so i figure next year this years r6 will be the same price or pretty close.. brand new its $11,599 so thats $13,300 with tax (14%).. the guy said if i bought that one he would give me $1,000 worth of gear just because the owner of the store drove it for like 300 km one weekend.
i really really wanna buy a new bike just because i know nothing has happend to it... in the back of my mind with a used bike i just keep thinking, how many times has he shifted at 15.5k rpms.. i know bikes can take it but come on.. 15,500 fuckin rpms is a shit load for any engine
hopefully i can buy an extended 5 year warante on a 2002 model next year just to be safe
with my calculations i will have at least $5k for a downpayment.. i will most likely have $6k and I also have enough for insurance and what not saved aside. i will do a 2 year plan just incase something happens with my job, but i could have it payed off by the end of next year no probs, since i grad in 2003. my monthly payments will be like $210 a month and i will make $300 part time during school (ends in june) so thats only 2 months before i work full time and pull $1200-$1500 a month
i am so stoked for this, i can't wait! i got 9 months to go!
