Quick question.
The Maintenance Required light came on at 17,000 miles on my car. It also came on at 5,000 at which time i called up and they told me it was just a "reminder" to have my car brought in for a $300 "Check-up." When i told them i can take care of my own car, i was told how to turn the sensor off. turn car off, hold in mileage button, turn car back on....?
so when i called up this time (at 17,000 miles) they told me the same thing, I needed to bring it in for a $300 tune-up. I said no thanks, only this time the lady wouldn't tell me how to turn off the sensor light.
anybody know what i'm talking about? anyone know how to turn off the light?
much thanks.

usually there's a little button under the dash or under the hood that is supposed to be pushed. not sure on the 06 civic though. and damn, 17k miles already?
