i have a 2000 4 dr ex with a d16y8 motor, and i am just wondering if doing any engine mods would be a waste of money. any help would be great.

What do you want your car to do?

no engine mods are necessarily a waste of money. as long as you don't go cheap on them and do them right.

not wanting to do a turbo or supercharger....just alittle more horsepower mainly. was thinking underdrive pulleys, intake manifold, injectors, throttle body... have done some research on honda engines and mostly what i found was that my engine needs to be swapped out for a b series. any thoughts or experiences would help greatly.

if your staying n/a your gonna be spending thousands to get your car into the 15s... not the most rewarding engine to tune, but if it's your cup of tea...

n/a 15's shouldn't be too difficult...
it goes like this..
sticky tires
tighter rear suspension
i/h/e
weight reduction

thats all...
14's on an all motor sohc? better start rippin shit apart..

i would listen to mimik and start from the ground up, with tires and suspension. These are two of the best mods you can do for starters.

well i do have a 2 inch drop on bomz racing coilovers, 17 inch motegi racing wheels with kumho tires, intake and exhaust, aluminum spoiler.......so i do have somewhat of a start

get your stock steel wheels... they should be 14x5. get a couple of falken azenis sized 195/60-14 and slap them on up front for the track. the 17's are only slowing you down. plus motegi's weigh more than Shamu.

the aluminum spoiler is also slowing you down. its putting more downforce on the rear and lifting the front... that's not too good when your front tires are doing all the accelerating..... holding... back.... rear.... aluminum... spoiler.... comment...#@*&@.....
