I've been hearing a lot lately that there is a good chance the production of 2stroke motorcycle engines will stop, mainly because of high emission standards. With bikes like the CRF450 and YZF426 is there really a need for 2strokes? Id like to see'em live just cause they are so much fun to ride!
I also heard about that . Thats gonna suck . Two strokes are way more fun to ride than fours :nodno:

two strokes won't die, they can hold their own on the track and are very economical.

two strokes cant even compete in superbike races anymore, and the way they pollute, i dont see any reason we would want to keep them around.

two strokes may not be good for acceleration but they can sure as hell corner...

youve seen the four stroke hondas run with two strokes through corners in superbike racing as well, theres just not enough of a difference anymore to justify the production of two strokes.

i dont think 2 or 4 stokes make a damn difference in cornering.

I have a feeling they are getting rid of them. Look at all the four stroke dirtbikes that are coming out. And look at ATVs theirs probably ony 5 or 6 of them that are 2 strokes now. And all the new ones that are coming out are 4 strokes. I wouldn't be surprised if the only 2 stroke bikes and quads you coud get ten years from now will probably be 50cc and under.

yeah, ive driven atvs a lot more than motorcycles, having a two stroke has really no advantage on a quad. of course, the best atv ive ever ridden was a shitty old two stroke three wheeler  , that thing turned really well! i guess they dont make as many cuz dumbasses fall over in them

2 strokes are really fun like a CR, YZ, KX, Rm ,ect. they are much easily to ride to 4 stroke get way better gas milege and better for off roading and 2 strokes are better for racing in motocross and accle.

I just dont think there is a need for 2 strokes ne more since they make 4 strokes able to beat 2 strokes. 4 strokes are better for the environment but who gives a shyt, i hate 4 strokes

I ve begun to notice that in a lot of 250cc motoX events there are a mix of 4 and 2 strokes. YZ250 and YZ250F are racing side by side, its a sign that maybe 2 strokes are on the downfall.

Most snowmobiles run 2 stroke engines... You also can run a 2 stroke at higher rpm than a 4 stroke because they use reed valves, less moving parts... 2 stroke engines also do well in go-kart races with big tracks.. Once a 2 stoke gets wound up.. they move
