im looking into getting a car alarm. i have a 92 civic dx. i dont have much knowledge about car alarms or where to get one so help me out. i heard that stock alarms are pretty good. how much would it cost from a dealer? or is there any aftermarket that are good without killing me on the price? thanks :roll_eye:

If you are near a Best Buy, try them or a store like them (CC or I think you guys have the Good Guys up there) if price is the most important thing. I got a Sidewinder for my last car. The thing I didn't like about it was the sensitivity was set too low. I think the price was about $250 or so for the general public. Good luck.

Go with a Clifford or a Viper.

DON"T Go to BEST Buys, or any other big store to get it done, go to a Alarm Store that will let you watch them when they are installing it, that way they can't fuck it up, and use shity wires and they have to do a good job, or you will see.
BTW Installers at Best Buys go to a 2 week training and get sent out to install the stuff on cars they have no idea about

Yep, I went to best buy to install some audio components in my Toyota, but they only install their own their merchandise. So they did their shit and when i went to another car audio store to do the rest they were like, "Dude what the fuck happened here."

Well if you had read the info they gave you you would know that all installs are guaranteed for as long as you own the car. So you should have taken it back and had them correct the issue. You can watch them install your items, just not from the install bay, but no real shop will allow a customer in there since their insurance strickly forbids it.
Oh and by the way they are nationaly certified mobile installers. Yes that is the same classes any real intall shop will send their people to, but not all do, just look for the certificates on the wall.
